Back to Where Our Love Story Began
There are some places that time can never erase from your heart. For my husband and me, it is a little place filled with memories—the place where we first met, first talked, and unknowingly began a story that would last for years.
Back then, we were young. Neither of us could have imagined that such an ordinary meeting would become the beginning of such an extraordinary journey. I can still remember the smiles, the glances, and that little bit of nervousness as two strangers slowly began getting to know each other.

At the time, we weren’t thinking about forever. We were simply enjoying the moment. But looking back now, I realize that one small moment changed the direction of both our lives.
Years later, we decided to return to the place where it all began.
So much had changed. The streets seemed busier, the lights seemed brighter, and of course, we had changed too. But when we sat together at a little table, held hands, and looked around, something unexpected happened.
For a moment, it felt as though all those years disappeared.
I didn’t see the passing of time when I looked at my husband. I saw the young man I met all those years ago. And when he looked at me and smiled, I felt like the young woman who had once sat across from him, wondering where this new relationship might lead.
We talked about our first conversations, our early dates, and the dreams we once shared when we had no idea what the future would bring. Some memories made us laugh. Others made us quiet for a moment as we realized just how much life we had experienced side by side.
Youth doesn’t last forever. Hair changes, wrinkles appear, and life takes us through seasons we could never have predicted.
But some things don’t have to grow old.
A familiar smile. A hand reaching for yours. The feeling of sitting beside someone who has shared so many chapters of your life.
This photograph isn’t simply about returning to an old place. To me, it feels like traveling back in time.
For just a little while, we were those two young people again—sitting together, smiling at each other, and completely unaware of the beautiful journey waiting ahead of us.
Maybe the most beautiful kind of love isn’t about staying young forever.
Maybe it’s about returning to where everything began many years later, looking across the table, and realizing that the person beside you is still the one whose hand you want to hold.
And if I could go back to that very first day and live it all over again, I would still walk toward him, smile, and choose to begin our story all over again.
